Rhodonite is a pink silicate mineral composed of iron, magnesium, and calcium, with a manganese matrix. It is the state stone of Massachusetts and is considered to be one of the most beautiful gems from the area. Rhodonite can also be found in Madagascar, Australia, Brazil, Mexico, India, Canada, Russian and Sweden.

Just What I Was Looking For

I had cut a rhodonite cabochon with a fair amount of black matrix in it. I set it in a sterling pendant. I wanted rhodonite beads that also had a fair amount of black matrix and these beads matched my needs perfectly. The quality was excellent.
