Chrysocolla has a beautiful velvety blue to green color stone and it is found in many different locations around the world, including Australia, Chile, Greece, the United States, and Peru where this one originates. The gemstone is commonly found in close proximity to copper deposits which are partially responsible for its formation. It is a relatively soft stone rating 3-3.5 on the Mohs hardness scale so it should be handled with care to avoid scratches. I purchased the 6.5 mm ones. They are more green than blue but beautiful nevertheless. The consistency of the bead size was very important to my project and I was impressed. I was equally impressed by the consistency of drilled holes. The beads aligned perfectly when strung. Thank you!
