These 100% natural Llanite Rhyolite beads have not been treated or enhances in any way.  

These Llanite Rhyolite beads are a Precambrian felsic extrusive rock found in Llano County of Central Texas and consists mainly of feldspar, blue quartz, and biotite, with trace amounts of several other minerals. 

Note: Matte beads have a tendency to 'dry' out and fade over time, resulting a dusty/chalky appearance. If receive a strand that looks dull, simply wipe a small amount of mineral oil on the beads with a cloth and they will darken in color to look like the photos. Skin oils will achieve this as well if you wear them regularly. This trick will work with almost all matte beads, just try it on a single bead first to ensure you are happy with the outcome.

  • 4mm = 85 Beads
  • 6mm = 58 Beads
  • 8mm = 45 Beads
  • 10mm = 36 Beads
  • 12mm = 30 Beads

Hole Size

Bead hole size ranges:

  • 4mm = 0.6mm to 0.8mm
  • 6mm = 0.8mm to 1.0mm
  • 8mm = 0.8mm to 1.0mm
  • 10mm = 1.0mm and larger

Fascinating stuff

Just received mine and, yes, they looked a bit dry and dull. I was disappointed. BUT I gently wiped them with a cloth saturated with mineral oil and BANG! They came to life! They are some of the most fascinating stones I’ve ever worked with. These were loaded with blue quartz and were stunning.

Not as glossy as photo

The photo of these appears more glossy than the actual stone. I am aware that this is Matte, but the photo suggests they would be more glossy. However, for the price, no complaint.

Matte stones have a tendency to dry out over time resulting in a less vibrant or 'chalky' appearance. If you want to liven them up a bit, wipe on a little mineral oil with a cloth and it will darken the color and make the stone's natural features pop as shown in the photos. Skin oil will do the same if worn frequently. We hope that helps!
