Amazonite is a gemstone that has been used in jewelry and beads for centuries. Its soft blue-green color is thought to be reminiscent of the Amazon River where abundant deposits are located. Amazonite is relatively hard with a Mohs Hardness rating of approximately 6.5, making it ideal for use in beading and other gemstone jewelry. It is also said to have calming and soothing properties, which may explain why it has been so popular over the years.

Recommendations

Elastic cords can be used with beads 4mm and larger, but it will not fit through most beads smaller than 4mm. It's recommended to use 0.5mm elastic cord.
