Sodalite is a dark blue stone with white streaks running through it. Sodalite is found in various parts of the world, but it is most commonly found in Brazil, Canada, and India. The name "sodalite" comes from the Greek word for salt, because the gemstone was originally found near salt mines. Sodalite is considered a semi-precious gemstone and is quite popular in many different types of handmade jewelry.

Interesting contrast

The matte 4.5mm sodalite beads are an interesting contrast to the sodalite larger beads I had. Originally disappointed with the matte almost chalky look when receiving them they have grown on me an I’m embracing their unique characteristics.
